Carnegie Medal

I'm very pleased to be able to announce that X Isle has been nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal 2011. Being nominated is a long way from winning the elusive wee blighter, but it's an honour in itself  and it's where all eventual winners have to start. So yay me.

Awesome! Guess I'll have to read it.....ok, I was going to anyway. Got it in e-book form for the library's digital collection, and ordered a "real" one too....just haven't gotten my hands on it yet.

Wow that's fantastic - congratulations.

I've just started reading it (am in the middle of the Preacher John sermon.)

It's a lot grimmer than I anticipated, but really compelling. Keeps reminding me of John Wyndham, but I suppose that's just the whole post apocalyptic thing.

Thanks, Masha. Aye, he's a bit of a scary one, that Preacher John. Gave me a few nightmares, I can tell you.
